Daniel F. Walsh

Daniel Francis Walsh ( born October 2, 1937 in San Francisco) is retired Bishop of Santa Rosa in California.

Life

Daniel Francis Walsh received on 30 March 1963, the ordained priest for the Archdiocese of San Francisco.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 30 June 1981 for the Auxiliary Bishop of San Francisco and Titular Bishop of Tigias. The Archbishop of San Francisco, John Raphael Quinn, gave him on 24 September of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Michael Kenny Hughes, Bishop of Juneau, and Joseph Anthony Ferrario, Auxiliary Bishop of Honolulu.

On 3 June 1987, he was appointed Bishop of Reno -Las Vegas, and introduced into the office on 6 August of the same year. With the division of the diocese on 21 March 1995 he was appointed Bishop of Las Vegas, and introduced into the office on July 28th of the same year. On 11 April 2000 he was appointed Bishop of Santa Rosa in California and introduced into the office on 22 May of the same year. From his office he resigned on 30 June 2011.
