Daniel Pedoe

Daniel Pedoe (* 1910 in London, † 1998) was a British mathematician and geometer with Polish roots.

Pedoe studied at Magdalene College, Cambridge University (with Frank P. Ramsey ). In 1935, he was on an internship at Solomon Lefschetz at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey. In 1937 he received his doctorate in Cambridge for Ph. D..

He is known as author of several articles and books in the field of geometry as well as for its association with William Vallance Douglas Hodge with whom he wrote the three - volume work Methods of Algebraic Geometry. Together with Hidetoshi Fukagawa he wrote the book Japanese Temple Geometry problem: San Gaku.

In 1962 he was invited speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Stockholm (A fundamental theorem in projective geometry ).
