Daniel Rydmark

Daniel Rydmark ( born February 23, 1970 in Västerås ) is a retired Swedish professional ice hockey player who in his playing days from 1985 to 2005, among other things Färjestad BK, Malmö Redhawks and VIK Västerås HK played in the Elitserien.

Career

Daniel Rydmark began his career as a hockey player in his hometown at the VIK Västerås HK, for the first team he made his debut was in the 1985/86 season in the second-class Division 1. He was then obliged by reigning Swedish champions Färjestad BK, with which he even won the national championship in the 1987/88 season. During his time in Karlstad, the attacker has also been selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1989 in the sixth round as a total of 123 players from the Los Angeles Kings, for which, however, he never played. Instead, he moved in front of the 1990/91 season to Malmö IF. With the exception of the 1995/96 season, in which he played eleven games for the Phoenix Roadrunners of the International Hockey League, he ran to the next eight years, exclusively for Malmö and was with these 1992 and 1994, respectively champion.

In the summer of 1998 Rydmark received a contract with his former club VIK Västerås HK, who had risen in the meantime in the Elitserien. When he was forced to withdraw in 2000 due to the bankruptcy of the license Players Department of the highest Swedish league, the Olympic champion from 1994 returned to Malmö. For Malmö he stood another four years on the ice, before, at the age of 35 years, ended his career after the 2004/05 season, in which he stood at the third division HC Vita Hästen and Borås HC under contract.

Internationally

For Sweden Rydmark at the U20 World Junior Championships in 1989 and 1990 and the World Cup 1992 took part. In addition, he was in the squad of Sweden at the 1992 Winter Olympic Games in Albertville and 1994 Lillehammer.
