Daniel Scioli

Daniel Osvaldo Scioli ( born January 13, 1957 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine politician and former racing driver. Since 2007 he has been Governor of the province of Buenos Aires.

Scioli was between June 2009 and March 2010 Chairman of the Peronist Party ( Partido Justicialista ) and holds the office since October 2010, on behalf of the late Néstor Kirchner again.

Life

Youth and motorsport career

Scioli studied marketing at the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa ( UADE ) in Buenos Aires.

In 1986, he began a career as a motor boat racer. In 1989 he lost after a serious accident in the Delta of the Paraná River arm. He could still continue to exercise with the help of a prosthesis successfully and won his sport until his retirement in 1997 eight world titles in offshore classes.

Political career

From 1997 to 2001 he was a deputy for the Peronists in Argentina's Congress. Between 2003 and 2007 he was Néstor Kirchner under Vice President of Argentina and qua official President of the Senate.

2007 Scioli was elected with 48.24 % of the valid votes cast for governor of the province of Buenos Aires. In 2011 he succeeded in re-election, this time with 55 % of votes.

Political point of view

Scioli is considered independent Kirchnerist who disagrees all decided by the leadership of the Frente para la Victoria specifications; he made it clear during his tenure as governor several times through gestures its independence from the government of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. In an interview with the newspaper La Nación in 2011, he described himself as a " moderate Peronist the middle ."
