Daniel Å mejkal

Daniel Šmejkal ( born August 28, 1970 in Plzeň ) is a former Czech football player and current football coach.

Club career

Daniel Šmejkal started at ZČE Pilsen, at age 13, he moved to the larger centers in the City Škoda Pilsen. In the 1988/89 season he made his debut for Skoda in the first Czechoslovak league. He then moved to Dukla Prague, there to do his military service. After one and a half years, he returned to Pilsen, now the team only played in the second league. 1993, simultaneously with the introduction of an independent Czech league succeeded the now renamed Viktoria Plzen club return to the excellence.

Šmejkal played an outstanding season, scoring eight goals. Following this he was engaged by Slavia Prague, where he scored in the championship season in 1995/96 to the service providers. In the summer of 1997, the midfielder joined the 1st FC Nuremberg in the Bundesliga 2, one year later to league rivals KFC Uerdingen 05 to 1999/00 season Šmejkal returned to the Czech Republic and signed with Marila Pribram.

Adopted in 2002, Daniel Šmejkal by professional football, and moved to FC Střížkov in the third-class CFL. In the 2006/07 season, even as a coach in the A- youth Slavia Prague active, he was in the squad of the fourth division Viktorie Jirny.

National

His excellent form in the years 1994 and 1995 brought Šmejkal ten matches during this period. He met in the games against France (2-2 ), against Malta (6:1) and in his last game against Slovakia (1-1).

Coaching career

Daniel Šmejkals first coach station were the A- juniors of his former club Slavia Prague. For the season 2007/ 08 he took over the B team Slavia in the 3rd League ( CFL). In the 2008 /09 season was Šmejkal assistant coach at Bohemians manager and chief coach of the second team. In the season 2009/10 he has been an assistant at FC Highlands Jihlava.
