Daniele Barioni

Daniele Barioni ( born September 6, 1930 in Copparo, Italy ) is an Italian opera singer.

At the beginning of his career working as a baritone, he sang in the subsequent period as a tenor. In 1949 he made ​​his debut at the Milan Circolo Italia in a concert, which was also the Chilean soprano Claudia Parada attended. In 1954 he made ​​his operatic debut at the Teatro Nuovo in Milan in the role of Turiddu in the opera Cavalleria rusticana. On February 20, 1956, he then entered the first time in the New York Metropolitan Opera on when he sang Cavaradossi in Tosca at the side of Delia Rigal and George London. Altogether he spent seven years in 54 appearances for the New York Opera and ended his time there with the role of the Italian singer in Der Rosenkavalier.

In his career, besides other worldwide appearances followed, the active participation in the Italian film Carosello di Canzoni. In 1966 he sang at La Scala in Milan, the Turiddu and Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly. Until 1975 he was also musically active on a regular basis in various American cities.

His other roles included: Dick Johnson in La Fanciulla del West, Ismaele in Nabucco, Macduff in Macbeth, Loris in Fedora, the title role in Andrea Chenier, Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor, Turandot Calaf in and Enzo in La Gioconda.

He joined on 18 June 1966 as a guest on the German TV show One will win. Between 1975 and 1980, his appearances became less frequent. In 1981 he was, with Renata Tebaldi as a partner, his last concert at the Teatro Comunale in Ferrara. Here he received the Premio Frescobaldi 1980.
