Daniele Vargas

Daniele Vargas (actually Daniele Pitani; born April 20, 1922 in Bologna, † January 7, 1992 in Rome ) was an Italian actor.

Life

Vargas went along with Pier Paolo Pasolini to school and studied medicine, which he also practiced for years. In 1957 he quit his job and moved to Rome, where he could pursue his passion for acting. Within a short time the big, hulking, mostly bald Vargas developed a sought-after character actors in costume dramas and adventure films. In 1961, he starred in Dino Risi's Una vita difficile as the Marquis Cafferoni at an early highlight of his career; later he often worked in spaghetti westerns and comedies. He was also active as a voice actor.
