Danilo Stojanović

Danilo " Čika DACA " Stojanović ( born October 24, 1877 in Lapovo in Kragujevac, Kingdom of Serbia, † April 23, 1967 in Belgrade, Yugoslavia ) was a Serbian football pioneer and driving force in the early years of the Belgrade football. He initiated in 1903 the creation of the FK Šumadija in Kragujevac. He was also in 1911 one of the initiators of the establishment of the Belgrade club BSK, and two years later became instrumental in the founding of SK Velika Srbija. He acted in football as a player, goalkeeper, coach and sports official and is now considered one of the most important and best-known pioneer of Serbian football.

History

On September 14, 1903 Danilo Stojanović founded in Kragujevac the football club FK Šumadija, after SK Soko the second football club in the Kingdom of Serbia. The first footballs had brought from Germany to Kragujevac Stojanović. As a student in Mittweida he learned of the then German Reich playing football at a Polish club called " Wisła ". Stojanović was so excited about the football, that for him back then, it was clear also introduce the new sport in his homeland. After his return, he worked as a teacher at a school in Kragujevac, where he also taught to play football the students. Stojanović was the first elected president of the association and suggested his name. The name Šumadija is a heavily forested region, therefore, is also the name because šuma "Forest " means in Serbian.

When FK Šumadija he remained until 1906. Then he moved for professional reasons to Belgrade, where he played until 1910 when SK Soko. In 1911 he was a founding member of the club BSK, where he was appointed vice president. A year later he left the BSK again and became president of the SK Dušanovac. With the beginning of the Balkan War in 1912, he joined the Serbian army. At the end of the war he returned to Belgrade and founded on August 1, 1913 along with a group of former players of the BSK, SK Velika Srbija to. With the outbreak of the First World War in 1914, he joined again in the Serbian army. As a refugee, he finally came to France and trained there initially at Olympique Marseille, before he subsequently played for Paris two football clubs. In Paris, he also owned a workshop for the manufacture of drills.

In 1919 he returned to SK Velika Srbija, changed the club name to SK Jugoslavija and became his club president. He held this position until 1921. 1920 Stojanović was also instrumental in the founding of the Yugoslav Football Association in Zagreb and was appointed Vice President. As a trainer he was twice Yugoslavian Champion with SK Jugoslavija before he left the club in 1926. After that, he held positions at several clubs and organizations and was also the first president of the Belgrade Football Association. He was honorary president of the clubs FK Šumadija, SK Dušanovac and Red Star Belgrade. In 1951 he published his autobiography Čika Dačine Uspomene (German: Čika Dačas memories ). According to him, the Čika - Daca Stadium is named. Danilo Stojanović died at the age of 89 years in Belgrade.
