Danish Film Institute

Det Danske Film Institute ( DFI short, German The Danish Film Institute ) is a public institution located in Filmhuset ( movie house ) in the Gothersgade in the center of Copenhagen, which is under the Danish Ministry of Culture. His main responsibilities include government funding of Danish films and their presentation at national and international film festivals as well as the import of foreign films quality.

The Film Institute in 1972 went forth from the Foundation and Fonden film in 1997 with the State Film Centre ( Statens Movie Central) and the Danish Film Museum (Det Danske Filmmuseum ) was merged. The organization is divided between the four departments of production and development, and public promotion, Museum and Cinematheque and administration. Apart from a Liaison Committee ( Kontaktudvalget ) is Det Danske Film Institute from the three councils film RADET for spillefilm ( Spielfilmrat ) advise RADET for kort -og documentary (Council for short and documentary ) and Museumsrådet ( Museums).
