Danish Touringcar Championship

The Danish Touring Car Championship ( short: DTC ) is the national touring car championship in Denmark. It was held for the first time in 1999. In the DTC is run after the Super 2000 regulations.

The races are mostly organized on Danish racetracks, where the majority of the race takes place at the Jyllandsringen. In addition to the ring Djursland there is the championship in Padborg Park near the German - Danish border one. The only international race took place until 2009 at the Sturup Raceway in Sweden. 2010, some races with the Swedish Touring Car Championship will be held jointly and awarded the Scandinavian Touring Car Cup. Thus, the DTC included guest appearances at Gothenburg City Race and on the ring Knutstorp in Sweden. 2011 will merge the two national championships for the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship.

In the framework program of the race weekends are also other national race series at the start, for example, Den Blå Avis MC600 (motorcycle), the Danish Clio Cup, Advan Cup and Volkswagen Polo Cup and the Formula Ford again and again are the internationally known Danes John Nielsen Jan Magnussen, Jason Watt or Kurt Thiim in the DTC go.

Points are awarded after each of the three races at the race Sundays according to the scheme 20-17-15-13-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 for the first 15 racers.

From 2011 series to the Swedish Touring Car Championship for the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship was unified. Already in 2010 it was common from the Scandinavian Touring Car Cup.

From 2012 there is with the Danish Thunder Sports Championship a successor series. There are only, as in the Swedish Camaro Cup, Chevrolet Camaros used.
