Dannie Heineman Prize for Mathematical Physics

The Dannie Heineman Prize for Mathematical Physics is awarded annually by the American Institute of Physics and the American Physical Society (APS ) for outstanding achievements in the field of mathematical physics. He is regarded as one of the highest awards in this field. The prize money is $ 7,500. It was donated in 1959 by electrical engineer and chief engineer of the company Dannie Heineman Sofinas ( 1872-1962 ), who worked around the turn of the century for AEG in Germany.

There is also since 1979 the Dannie Heineman Prize for Astrophysics.
