Danny Ainge

Daniel Ray Ainge ( born March 17, 1959 in Eugene, Oregon ) is a former American professional basketball and baseball player.

From 1979 to 1981 he played for the Toronto Blue Jays in Major League Baseball, before switching to basketball. Between 1981 and 1995 he played in the NBA for the teams of the Boston Celtics, Sacramento Kings, Portland Trail Blazers and Phoenix Suns. Ainge is 1,96 m tall and played at the position of shooting guard. Along with Larry Bird, he won two championships in the 1980s in the NBA. After his active career as a player he was from 1996 to 1999 Head Coach for the Phoenix Suns. Since 2003 he has worked as General Manager of the Boston Celtics.
