Danutė Jočienė

Danute Jočienė (birth name Sadauskaitė, born November 10, 1970 in Rajongemeinde Akmenė ) is a Lithuanian lawyer, expert on international law, Judge of the Constitutional Court of Lithuania. She has become known for human rights through their appointment at age 33 as the youngest judge in the history of the European Court of Justice.

Training

1986 graduated Danute Sadauskaitė after eight years of school in Tučiai ( Rajongemeinde Mažeikiai ) and 1989 with honors ( silver medal ), the middle school in Viekšniai at Mažeikiai. From 1986 to 1989 Danute Sadauskaitė graduated from the school for young educators ( the Lithuanian language and literature) at the University of Vilnius. After high school she dreamed to study the Lithuanian language and literature since she was fascinated by the work of the teachers and the books (especially poetry ) read. Since his written work of Baccalaureate Lithuanian following this thorough examination of the Commission on Education of the Rajons Mažeikiai with 'good' was unexpected (rather than 'very good' ), Danute be decided for another study at the University. From 1989 to 1994 Danute Sadauskaitė graduated from the Diploma in Legal Science with honors and received his PhD in European Law on the Implementation of the Convention of the Council of Europe in national law ( partly Law ) at the Vilniaus universitetas.

From 1993 to 1996 she worked at the Research Institute for Law as a research assistant from 1993 to 1996 as a lawyer at the Inspectorate for Protection of Cultural Property, at the Departament of European Law at the Lithuanian Government and as Representative of the Republic of Lithuania to the European Court of Human Rights (2003-2004 ). From 1 November 2004, she was a judge of the European Court of Human Rights to October 2013. Since 20 March 2014, it is a judge in the Constitutional Court of Lithuania. As a candidate, it was proposed by Gintaras Kryževičius, President of the Lietuvos Aukščiausiasis Teismas.

Danute Jočienė teaches international law, international contract law, regulation and legal status of NGOs at the Law Faculty of the University of Vilnius. She was assistant editor and lecturer. Jočienė led the seminars, working groups, course papers, diploma and master theses. She was also coordinator of the distance courses ( in collaboration with the Institute for Human Rights in Turku / Abo), Vice- Dean (in charge of the department for distance learning ) of the Law Faculty of the University of Vilnius.

Danute Jočienė can on numerous research visits and lectures in Germany (Heidelberg, Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law ), Finland (Turku / Abo ), Switzerland (Lausanne), Netherlands (The Hague ), France ( Strasbourg), Austria ( Salzburg), Spain ( Castellon ), Belgium ( Brussels ), Latvia ( Riga) look back.

As an expert of the Lithuanian Government, she was on the Coordinating Committee for Human Rights ( CDDH ) and the Committee of the improvement of procedures of the Human Rights ( DH -PR) operates.
