Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange

The Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange ( DSE, German: Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange ) is the only stock exchange in Tanzania. It has its headquarters in the Tanzanian capital Dar es Salaam, was established in 1996. The first trading day, however, was only in April 1998.

She was from the beginning one of the smallest exchanges worldwide. On the first trading only one company was listed, the Tanzania Oxygen Ltd.. The market capitalization at the end of the first trading day just 10.15 million U.S. dollars. On the stock market is traded in Tanzanian shillings. Since October 2002, foreign investors may trade on the exchange. The venue is open every Wednesday morning for half an hour.

The four listed companies, all of which come from Tanzania, are: . Tanzania Breweries Ltd., Tanzania Cigarette Co., Tanzania Tea Packers Ltd.. and TOL Limited.
