Çanakkale Dardanelspor is a Turkish football club from Canakkale. The club played in the 1990s, a total of three seasons in the Süper Lig and is located in the Eternal table on the 50th place.
History
Çanakkale Dardanelspor was founded in 1966, the club colors are red and white. The home games will be played in 18 Mart Stadi, the capacity of 15,000 (12,500 seats). In 1966 the team with the name of Çanakkalespor. Since 1991, the team acts as Çanakkale Dardanelspor. Çanakkale Dardanelspor made in 1992 attracted attention as a third division football team defeated them in the Turkish Cup Samsunspor then leader of the 2nd league and MKE Ankaragucu. In the quarter finals they met Galatasaray with Karl- Heinz Feldkamp as a coach. Çanakkale Dardanelspor lost in Ali Sami Yen Stadium by two goals from Erdal Keser 0-2. Despite the defeat, and the simultaneous withdrawal Dardanelspor won much sympathy. After this small success, the team was relegated to the 2nd division. During the season, played the West team in the Turkish Süper Lig The team managed with a strong squad for 3 years in the first league to play along. In the 1998/99 season the team was relegated to the second league. Here they played for seven years then until 2006 in the 3rd league fell. In 2009 they made the comeback in the second league.
