Dargeçit ( Syro -Aramaic ܟ ܪ ܒ ܘ ܪ ܢ Kerburan ), formerly Kerboran, also Kfar Boran, is a city and the name of a district in the Turkish province of Mardin in southeastern Anatolia. The city has Dargeçit 14,700 and the county 27 828 inhabitants ( 2010). Dargeçit located in the northeast of the province and borders the provinces of Batman, Siirt and Sirnak. The city, whose Turkish name means Passenger passage, situated on a hill. Originally a Christian Assyrian place Dargeçit is now inhabited by Kurds.
