Dariush Eghbali

Dariush Eghbali ( born February 4, 1951 in Tehran ) is an Iranian musician.

Life

He spent his first years in 40 km west of Tehran, Karaj town. At age nine, he stood on the stage at his school. The actor Hassan Khayatbashi introduced him in 1971 before the Iranian television. With the song Do not Tell Me You Love Me, he quickly became popular. His work consists of over 200 songs and 26 music albums. He was also with in two Iranian films.

Eghbali is a member of Amnesty International. He is committed to the Iran Recovery Center and the Ayeneh Foundation and used his popularity around on the internet to promote a drug-free lifestyle in training events and conferences.

Awards

His contributions were perceived by the Self-Help and Recovery Exchange, which distinguished him with the Ron Simmons & Rev, Ronald L. Wright Award for his commitment to disadvantaged minorities.
