Darlington F.C.

The Darlington FC ( officially: Darlington Football Club ) was an English football club from Darlington, England, who is currently in the English Conference National, which is the fifth highest in the English league, plays. The nickname of the club lauteteThe Quakers ( the Quakers), this refers to the great influence that the religious movement had on the city.

History

The club was founded in 1883 and played in 1889 in the Northern League, which they won in 1896 and 1900. 1908, the club became a professional club and played from then on in the North Eastern League.

By 1925, managed to carve out up to the second highest English league, the club had two years later, however, the transition back into the deeper classes begin.

In 1989, the team got down into the English Football Conference, and thus from the professional football, in the year, however, it tried and failed to re- rise and a year later, even the climb to the third tier. From 2010 until its dissolution in 2012, the Darlington FC played again fünftklassig.

The club wore their home games at The Northern Echo Darlington Arena, one opened in 2003, 25,000 -seat football stadium, which is named after a local newspaper and formerly was known as the Reynolds Arena. Previously played in Darlington Feethams, the old stadium in the city center.

The ambitious plan of former President George Reynolds was to create through the construction of a, for the fourth League quite unusual, Arena Football Premier League conditions and the club eventually lead to the first division. This goal seems to be but currently moved due to poor purchasing policy in the player area at that time in the distant future.
