Darßer Ort Natureum

The Natureum Darßer place is outstanding since 1991 a branch of the Oceanographic Museum in Stralsund on Darßer place, the northern tip of Darßes. The Natureum is located about five kilometers northwest of Prerow and about 8 km north of the Born in the National Park Boddenlandscape. It is only by foot, on bicycle or horse-drawn carriage ( if required bus shuttle ).

Focal point of the device, the nature and the landscape of the peninsula Darß. Many specimens of animals ( of porpoise, seal, eider and sea hare to beach crab and mussel ) and a Baltic Sea aquarium with fish and invertebrates of the Baltic Sea show the diversity of animal life in the region.

The Natureum offers six solid exhibitions:

From the 150 year old, 35 -meter high lighthouse Darßer place you can see far beyond the lagoon area.

From the founding of the Natureums 1991 to 2004 were more than 1.7 million visitors on site.
