Darwin (lunar crater)

Darwin is an impact crater on the Moon's front west of the Mare Humorum, southwest of the crater Crüger and northwest of Byrgius. The rim is very badly eroded and disappeared almost entirely in the southern part. The interior is traversed by the moon groove system of Rimae Darwin.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the British naturalist Charles Darwin.
