Dauphiné Alps ( The Meije with the Grand Pic)

The Dauphiné Alps are part of the Western Alps in France, the mountainous part of the Dauphiné region.

Upstream of the west are the foothills trains Vercors and Chartreuse. In the north the Dauphiné Alps from the Savoy Alps are bounded in the east by the Graian and to the southeast of the Cozie Alps. For the central glaciated high alpine mountain range to the mountain ranges of Barre des Ecrins, Meije, Ailefroide and Mont Pelvoux also the collective name Pelvoux is in use.

Its highest peak is the Barre des Ecrins, at the same time of the southernmost four peaks in the Alps.
