David Diringer

David Diringer ( born June 16, 1900 in Tlumacz, Hungary, † 1975) was a Jewish Hungarian orientalist origin.

Work

David Diringer was one of the greatest researchers of language development and the history of writing. He taught at the University of Cambridge and is the author of several important works on the subject of writing and founding director of the Alphabet Museum in Tel Aviv.
