David Finck

David Finck ( born August 26, 1958) is an American jazz bassist (double bass, bass guitar).

Finck grew up in a musical family and played at the age of ten years, double bass. During his high school years he took lessons with different bass players of the Philadelphia Orchestra. After studying at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, graduating in 1980, he went to New York and then toured with the band of Woody Herman.

Finck's discography includes more than one hundred albums, including excellent with gold and platinum recordings with Rod Stewart, Natalie Cole and Elton John. Among other things, he also worked with Dizzy Gillespie, Herbie Hancock, Aretha Franklin, Sinead O'Connor, Ivan Lins, Al Jarreau, Tony Bennett, Paquito D' Rivera, George Michael, Rosemary Clooney and Andre Previn. With the trio of Steve Kuhn, to which he belongs for many years, he also accompanied Sheila Jordan.

With your own David Finck Quartet ( with Joe Locke, Tom Ranier and Joe LaBarbera ) he published in 2008 the album Future Day. With pianist Roger Davidson 2011 he laid before the album Umbrellas & Sunshine.
