David GarcÃa Dapena
David Garcia da Pena ( born September 30, 1977 in Pontevedra ) is a Spanish cyclist.
David García began his career in 1999 at the Portuguese cycling team LA Pecol. The next year he moved to Cantanhede - Marques de MARIALVA, where he won a stage at the Grand Prix Philips 2001. In 2003 he won a stage at the Grand Prix Cantanhede and he was twice the Grand Prix Abimota successful. For the 2004 season, he moved back to LA Pecol, where he won a portion of the Volta a Terras de Santa Maria and the Tras os Montes e Volta a Alto Douro. The next year he was successful on the fourth stage of the Grand Prix Abimota and 2006 he won the first stage of the Volta a Terras de Santa Maria. Since 2007, Garcia riding for the Spanish Professional Continental team Karpin Galicia. He started at the Vuelta a España, where he was twice in the top ten, finishing in 23rd place in the overall standings. The next year, García won the overall title of the Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey.
End of September 2010 it was announced that Garcia has been tested together with his former team-mate Ezequiel Mosquera positive for an EPO verschleierndes preparation. End of the 2010 season, he finished his career as a professional cyclist. A two-year doping ban said the Spanish Cycling Federation made on January 27, 2011.
