David H. Levy

David H. Levy ( May 22nd, 1948 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada ) is a Canadian astronomer and science writer.

He was known for his Mitentdeckung of the comet Shoemaker- Levy 9, which collided with the planet Jupiter in 1994.

Levy has discovered 22 comets, either alone or with Eugene Shoemaker and his wife Carolyn, and has over 30 books - mostly on astronomical topics - written.

In 1985 discovered asteroid ( 3673 ) Levy was named after him.
