David HaLevi Segal

David ben Samuel ha -Levi (c. 1586, † 1667 in Lviv ), often referred to by the acronym Tas, according to his work Sahaw Ture, was a Polish Jewish scholar and Dezisor of the 17th century.

He has worked in Krakow, Poznan, in Ostrog, where he founded a yeshiva, and in Lvov. His most famous work Ture Sahaw ( " shields of gold " ), a commentary on the Shulchan Aruch was published to coincide with the work Sifte ha - Kohen of his much younger opponent Sabbatai ben Meir ha - Kohen in the year 1646.
