David Harvey (footballer)

David Harvey ( born February 7, 1948 in Leeds, England ) is a former Scottish footballer.

The football goalkeeper Harvey grew up in Leeds, the son of Scottish -born parents and began his football career in the youth teams of Leeds United. In 1965 he received his first professional contract with Leeds, but was until 1972 only substitute goalkeeper. With the regular place, which he received at Leeds United 1972/1973, he was also the Scottish national football team. With Scotland, he qualified for the FIFA World Cup 1974 in Germany, where he lost not a game, but was eliminated in the first round due to the poorer a goal Torverhältnissen against Brazil. At club level, he has been English champions in the same season with Leeds and reached the final of the 1975 European Champion Clubs' Cup against FC Bayern Munich. The finale lost his team 0-2. His professional career at Leeds he finished in 1985, but then played briefly at Bradford City and Partick Thistle before he finished finally the end of the 1985/1986 season of his career.
