David J. C. MacKay

David John Cameron MacKay ( born April 22, 1967) is a British professor of natural philosophy at the University of Cambridge.

Life

In September 2009, MacKay was appointed senior scientific adviser to the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change.

Services

MacKay invented the text input system Dasher, which allows, among other things, the barrier- free control of computers. It is available as free software.

Published in 2008, MacKay the book " Sustainable Energy - Without the Hot Air", which deals with the energy consumption and sustainable energy production without fossil fuels. There under the GNU GPL ( free software) has been released.
