David Koninck

David de Coninck (* 1636 in Antwerp, † 1687 presumably in Brussels) was a Dutch animal and still life painter.

Coninck was a pupil of Pieter Boel in Antwerp and was 1663 champion of the local Guild of St. Luke. He painted living and dead animals, fruits, flowers and still lifes in the manner of Jan Fyt. He travels through Germany and France, and went in 1670 to Rome, from where he returned to Antwerp in 1687. In 1699 he moved to Brussels. His pictures are rare. A still life with dead ducks has the Imperial Gallery at Vienna.
