David Moores

David R. Moore ( born 1945 ) is an English football functionary, former president of Liverpool FC and entrepreneurs.

Moores and Liverpool

Moore was elected on 18 September 1991 president of FC Liverpool. The Englishman has a 51 % stake in the club. Moore's uncle John Moores was President of the local rivals Everton and owns part of the Reds. John Moore founded in Little Woods, a retail firm with which he made the Moores family to one of the richest families in Britain. In 2002, the company for € corresponding to about 1.1 billion was sold. The entrepreneur was involved in the preparations for the construction of a new stadium for Liverpool FC. In February 2007, David Moores sold the Reds for € corresponding to about 690 million to the U.S. magnate Tom Hicks and George Gillett. The amount includes € 323 million also for the new stadium. Under Moore's leadership Liverpool won the following titles: Three times the English Cup (1992, 2001, 2006 ), the English League Cup three times (1995, 2001, 2003 ), once in the UEFA Cup ( 2001), once the Champions League (2005) and the European Super Cup twice (2001, 2005).

Private life

Moore is married to Marjorie. He is also the heir of the Littlewood - assets. He is number 42 of the richest Britons, according to London Times.
