Life and work

The sources contradict each other a little when Naughton has had his first professional appearance as an actor. It is certain that he has appeared in The Other Side of Victory in 1976, having previously appeared as a singer and dancer in various television commercials in appearance.

The young man's career was slow until 1981, he was awarded the title role in American Werewolf in London ( An American Werewolf in London); in this salient primarily by its special effects and its multi-award winning make-up horror movie he played while the main role, but could his acting abilities practically not prove because - although purely in age also long on this roll compartment - just an American had to play college boys or in the werewolf sequences by the strong mask, a blazing fast section and a nightly illumination could hardly appear. In addition, his role was in this film quite "flat " is created, so that it was not possible for him to really bring out a character.

Although the film was a worldwide success and today is considered a milestone of the modern horror film in the art, Naughton was denied the international break. He stepped forward and acts as the main and supporting cast in mostly second-rate horror films on ( released in 2006 and again in a werewolf movie: Big Bad Wolf) and appeared otherwise in mostly unspectacular roles in films and television series (such as MacGyver ) of all conceivable genre.

As a singer he had in 1979 a top 10 hit in the U.S. with makin 'it.

Brother, James Naughton is a recognized theater and film actor in the U.S.. On 14 and 15 April 2012, he was with the director John Landis and the special effects artist Mike Hill member of An American Werewolf in London committee, under the Monsterpalooza, 2012.
