David Prophet

David Prophet ( * October 9, 1937 Hong Kong, † 29 March 1981 near Silverstone ) was a British racing driver.

Career

David Prophet driving in races for a decade. He had already earned in Formula Junior, when he took part in 1963 with his Brabham BT6 in South Africa at the city's Formula 1 Grand Prix his first spurs. Prophet fell resistant problems with the oil pressure prematurely. Around the same time, he also participated at the edge of the Grand Prix, which he finished in sixth place, and at the Grand Prix of Rhodesia, where he piloted his Brabham to second place.

Between 1964 and 1967 he attended regularly Formula 2 race, but with limited success. He was more successful in the sports car. He drove a Lotus 30, the Ford GT40 and Lola T70 at a national sports car racing in the UK and in selected events of the World Sportscar Championship.

In 1970, he played with a McLaren M10B a complete formula 5000 season. In 1971 he retired from racing. He was killed ten years later fatal: The helicopter, the Silverstone racetrack left with the Prophet after an event, crashed shortly after launch.
