David Rosenmann-Taub

David Rosemann Taub ( May 3, 1927 in Santiago de Chile) is a Chilean poet and pianist.

David Rosemann Taub put his degree from the University of Chile in 1948. In the same year he won the " Sindicato de Escritores " for his first book of poems Cortejo y Epinicio. Over the next three decades, David Rosemann Taub has published more than 10 books of poetry, including Los Surcos inundados, La Enredadera del Júbilo, Los Despojos del Sol and El Cielo en la Fuente. For lot Surcos inundados he was awarded the Premio Municipal de Poesía, the Chilean equivalent of the Pulitzer Prize. His poetry was appreciated by writers as different as Witold Gombrowicz, Victoria Ocampo and Francis de Miomandre.

In 1976, he began with readings and music to travel and visited Latin America, Europe and the USA, where in 1985 he settled down. His recent works continue to be published in Chile. Armando Uribe Arce, the youngest winner of the Chilean National Prize named David Rosemann - deaf " the greatest living poet in the Spanish language ."
