David Svoboda

David Svoboda ( born March 19, 1985 in Prague) is a Czech Modern Pentathlon fighter. 2012 in London, he became Olympic champion.

Sporting career

Svoboda joined in 2002 for the first time internationally, when he finished 28th place in the European Youth Championships; In 2003, he reached the second place. 2004 Svoboda took sixth place at the Junior World Championships in Shekesferhervar, 2006, he ran on the third place at the European Junior Championships, at the Junior World Championship 2006 in Shanghai, he won the title. In 2008 he occupied at the World Championships in adult category in second place behind the Russian Ilya Frolov. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing Svoboda finished in 29th place. 2009 Svoboda won the world title in the relay, in the individual competition he finished in second place behind Hungary Adam Marosi, also in the team standings, the Hungarians won against the Czechs. 2010 Svoboda won the Military World Cup and the European Championships, the World Cup in Chengdu, he reached number 17 in the individual standings and fifth in the relay. 2011 Svoboda won the World Cup Competition in Budapest and the Kremlin Cup in Moscow, but did not land as 23 of the European Championship and 32nd in the world championship at the major championships in 2011 in front of the field. In May 2012, he finished in ninth place in Rome at the World Championships, in August he won at the Olympic Games gold medal.
