Davies (crater)

Davies is an approximately 49 km impact crater on Mars. It is located in the eastern edge of the lowlands Acidalia Planitia near the highlands Arabia Terra.

As its namesake, the American engineer Merton E. Davies (1917-2001), NASA assisted in the mapping of Mars and the prime meridian stipulated, it is only appropriate that adopted by the International Astronomical Union (IAU ) in 2006 after it named crater is also at the prime meridian.
