Day of the German-speaking Community of Belgium

The Day of the German-speaking Community (French Jour de la Communauté Germano Phone; Dutch Dag van de Duitstalige Gemeenschap ) is a holiday of the German-speaking Community of Belgium. This takes place since 1990 every year on November 15. The date coincides with the Belgian festival of the King ( formerly Day of the dynasty ), since " issued the German -speaking population, according to the then Prime Minister Joseph Maraite (CSP ) and the Council decision of 1 October 1990 as a minority under the special care of the head of state wanted.

At the same time, the shape and appearance of the coat of arms and the flag was adopted by this decree.

Since 2005, the central ceremony takes place in a different congregation of the German-speaking Community in alternate years. Numerous concerts enrich the festival character.
