Daylight Again

Daylight Again is the title of an album by the folk band Crosby, Stills and Nash.

History

Stephen Stills and Graham Nash began working on this album in 1980. Originally it was to be a Stills and Nash project. For the massive drug problems fighting and therefore hardly workable David Crosby they had provided as a singer Art Garfunkel and Timothy B. Schmit. However, the record label Atlantic Records had just interested in a Crosby, Stills & Nash bring out album and so they asked 1982 David Crosby into the studio.

Crosby's participation on the album was very limited by his drug problems as well as the associated vocal Weaknesses: Only one song, delta, came from his pen. Another piece ( Might As Well Have A Good Time ) he recorded as the lead singer, sang on all other Stills and Nash alone or with Timothy B. Schmit. Art Garfunkel helped the piece Daylight Again.

The album Daylight Again was finally published in June 1982 in the U.S. and climbed into the album charts up to 8th place. Three singles were released from the album. The most successful was Wasted on the Way, written by Graham Nash, which climbed up to 9th place of the single charts. Then came Stephen Stills ' Southern Cross, which came to number 18. For the first time the band released music videos. In 1982 and 1983, MTV ran the video for Wasted on the Way and Southern Cross. Both songs are now among CSN classics, were published on various compilations ( most recently in 2005 on the album Greatest Hits ) and are still played in concerts.

The album was followed by a tour, which was interrupted by Crosby's fluctuating health partially. As a concert documents of this tour was published in 2007 the album live in LA and the DVD Daylight Again. Some live recordings were released in 1983 on Allies.

In 1991, the band released on the 4- CD box CSN a cover of Traffic 's classic Dear Mr. Fantasy. Stills and Nash had the piece written by Steve Winwood in 1980 was added to Daylight Again in the course of work.
