Band History

One of the most famous songs of this group is called " Jesus Freak ", which is strongly influenced by grunge musical influences and since 1995 has been an anthem of the Western Christian youth culture. Previously, the trio was best known for its hip-hop and crossover sounds and later pop and R & B. Only this style swing to rock offered the chance to establish themselves permanently in the music business. The change in direction was Acclaimed by audiences and critics.

The band kept the now -down to high profile name - should stand for decent christian talk ( decent Christian speeches) - in allusion to the often explicit poetry American hip hop artist. In Time Ta Jam song from the self-titled debut album will showcase the lines that explain this:

" You see D' s for Decent, and you will agree Quite explicit yet rated G "

Since 2001, the three band members in succession - and in some cases highly successful - started their solo careers: While Toby McKeehan again turned to the rap and hip -hop, Michael Tait formed his own rock band and Kevin Max undertook stylistically more the alternative rock and singer / songwriter. Whether it will ever again be a collaboration of the trio as a band " dc Talk " is currently very uncertain.
