DCC Doppelmayr Cable Car

Cable Liner Shuttle Doppelmayr denotes a rail-mounted cable-hauled system for passengers with fixed-grip vehicles. The system works like a pendulum or funicular, that is, the two vehicles to commute between the two opposite terminals and back. The Cable Liner Shuttle is designed as opposed to a funicular railway to operate on a flat and relatively short distance. The main use of the up to now (2014) realized plants was related to the connection of two terminals of large airports.

The concept of such a system based on a high performance passenger transportation over short distances and spacious vehicles. The stations along the course are possible, but they must be arranged so that both vehicles can simultaneously stand at a bus stop.

The system in Las Vegas, however, consists of two independent systems: a path connecting the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Excalibur hotel directly, the other has two intermediate stops. Since only one train is used on any system that stops can be placed anywhere along the route.

Not to be confused is the Cable Liner Shuttle with the Mini Metro available by Leitner. This system uses detachable vehicles, which can be engaged and disengaged while driving at any arranged stops from constantly in motion, running cable and stopped for boarding and alighting. The original cable liner from which there was a test track on the plant grounds in Wolfurt was, however, also designed by this system. However, it was previously not built a commercial plant. Recently, the manufacturer plans but again offer detachable versions to increase the length and capacity of the railways.
