De Profundis is the second album by the Polish death metal band Vader.
Genesis
The album was released after the loss of the record deal with Earache Records on the small Polish label Croon Records. Shortly after publication of the album, the band negotiated contracts with the German punk label Impact Records. Initially, only for Vader Unterlabel System Shock was founded. Later still bands like Malevolent Creation and Master have been contracted. The sales for North America took over the American label Conquest Music.
Music style
De Profundis was described in the Tales of the Macabre as " perfect mix of Slayer and Morbid Angel," the last track on the album sounded as if he was from Slayers Hell Awaits. The album is now considered classics in the Death Metal scene.
Versions
The official version of the album has nine songs. However, there was also a special edition with a tenth song called I Feel You, a cover version of Depeche Mode, which was also published on the follow-up album Future of the Past. 2000, the CD was re-released along with the successor to a CD.
