Dean Foods

Dean Foods is an American dairy company headquartered in Dallas, Texas. It is listed on the New York Stock Exchange since 5 March 1997 under the symbol DF and the stock index S & P 500 since 2006.

Dean Foods produces various products based on milk. In this market segment, Dean Foods is the market leader in the United States. Following the acquisition of Alpro Vandemoortele 2009 Dean Foods has been the leader in soy products in Europe.

At over 100 locations in 38 states, producing more than 25,000 employees, the products of Dean Foods. They generated a turnover of 13.055 billion U.S. dollars.

History

The company was founded in 1925 by Samuel E. Dean. He acquired the company Pecatonica Marketing Company located in Illinois and called it 1927 in Dean Evaporated Milk Company in order. In the following years, Dean acquired an additional dairies in Illinois. In December 2001, the company from competitors Suiza Foods Corporation was acquired from Dallas. From this, the present company was Dean Foods in Dallas.

In the first quarter of 2011, took over the yogurt Schreiber Foods division of Dean Foods.
