Death Takes a Holiday

The Black Majesty is an American drama directed by Mitchell Leisen. The film was released on March 30, 1934 in the United States in the cinemas. With his performance in the same year in Austria, the film for the first time in the German language was launched. In ( Reich ) German cinema was not shown the black majesty.

Action

After he has wondered long why he is feared by the people to death in human form decides to go on a search for the answer. He spends as Prince Sirki three days as a guest Duke Lamberts. Some of the female guests are interested in him, but ultimately shy away from him. Only Grazia falls in love with him, although she learns of his true nature. The death falls in love with Grazia. When he learns of this, asks him the Duke, who is also the father of Grazia's fiancé Corrado, they give up and leave at the mortals. The death has to decide whether he gives his love for Grazia or waived and leaves them among the living.

The film is based on the Italian play La Morte in Vacanze by Alberto Casella.
