Dębice, West Pomeranian Voivodeship

Debice ( German oak forest ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in the small town Maszewo ( German Massow ) to its urban and rural community it belongs to.

Geographical location

Debice located in Pomerania, about 6.5 kilometers northeast of Maszewo, 21 kilometers east of Goleniów ( Gollnow ) and 38 kilometers east of Stettin ( Szczecin).

History

The village belonged in former times to a Gutsbezirk, with the non- case- Benz also Klein -Benz and the manor lazy Benz ( older local name: Vulenbenze ) included as well as the associated administrative district lazy Benz. On November 28, 1884 Lazy Benz was renamed at the request of the manor owner Carl Heller in oak forest, so that the District henceforth called the district of oak forest. Around 1780 the Gutsbezirk had belonged to Saatziger circle.

Archaeological finds that the district of oak forest was inhabited in ancient times. A travelogue of the bishop and missionary Otto of Bamberg is apparent that he baptized in 1124 at this location and was present probably also 1125 here. According to him, the existing on the boundary 1.5 meters wide and two meters deep Otto fountain is named, he should have used for baptism.

In 1930 the boundaries of the municipality oak forest had a surface area of 11.6 km ². In the district there were two residences with a total of 76 residential buildings:

In 1925 503 residents were counted, which were distributed to 106 households.

Before 1945 oak forest belonged to the district of Pomerania in the district of Stettin Pomerania.

Towards the end of the Second World War the inhabitants fled before the advancing Red Army. However, the flight to the West did not succeed all after they had been overrun by Soviet troops, many were forced to return. After the war, oak forest was put together with all Pomerania under Polish administration. The remaining German population was expelled on 24 June 1945 by the Poles to the west across the Oder.

Traffic

Due to the boundaries of the municipality, the Province Road 106, which runs from Stargard ( Stargard in Pomerania ) about Kolobrzeg ( Kolberg ) to Nowogardzka ( Pomerania ) leads.
