Dee Bell

Dee Bell ( * July 16, 1950 in Fort Wayne, Indiana) is an American jazz singer.

Dee Bell attended Plainfield High School, where she played the clarinet and performing with an a cappella trio. In 1972, she graduated from Indiana University in art education. Later she lived in Bloomington, where she led a vegetarian restaurant. In the 1980s, she began as a jazz singer in the San Francisco Bay Area to occur; on Concord Records then released two albums of her. In the first Let There Be Love (1983 ) had, inter alia, Stan Getz and guitarist Eddie Duran. Accompanied by Tom Harrell and musicians from the Bay Area in 1985 was the album One by One.

Their albums brought her recognition by the critics; the downbeat she chose in his polls of 1984 and 1985 for "Talent Deserving Wider Attention. " Leonard Feather discussed their album in the Los Angeles Times. Currently, she lives in Mill Valley near San Francisco and occurs in various ensembles and with big bands.
