Deezer

Deezer is a global music streaming service, which began operations in August 2007 and is operated by the French company blog music SAS. Deezer is available in 182 countries and streams a catalog of 25.7 million titles (as of June 7, 2013 ) at a bit rate of up to 320 KB ( by his own admission ). Deezer is financed partly from advertising and currently has (at least) 26 million users, of which (at least) 5 million paying subscribers are.

History

The service was first launched in 2006 on an informal basis under the name Blogmusik.net. However, a complaint of the French collecting society SACEM led in February 2007 to its closure. The name was changed to Deezer and resumed operation on August 22, 2007.

Shortly after the opening of Universal Music laid a complaint, as was provided illegally who consider copyrighted material.

The operator, however, relied on an agreement with SACEM, which was done before the name change. With Sony BMG Deezer was, however, a cooperation framework, which allowed the use of the title of this company in October 2007. On May 14, 2008 Universal Music France signed an international agreement with Deezer, which allows access to its music catalog. The titles were initially playable only in France and are now also accessible from Germany.

In addition to the agreements with three of the four largest record companies Deezer has contracts with many independent record labels, such as Believe, Because Music, Beggars, The Orchard or Naïve.

Currently Deezer has over 26 million users, on a catalog of over 30 million tracks have access (as of November 2013). Since 15 December 2011, the offer of Deezer also in Germany is available.

On October 10, 2012 Deezer received a capital injection of € 100 million, coming from the " Warner Bros. Music" buyers and Russian billionaire Leonard " Len " Blavatnik. This bought Warner Music until a few days ago for a sum of approximately € 3.3 billion.

In February Deezer announced to have a partnership with the tourism group TUI closed to expand the marketing of the service.

Deezer is the only service in addition to Spotify, the music via application can directly put on the Smart TVs from Samsung, Toshiba and LG.

Functionalities
