Degradosome

The Degradosom is a bacterial protein complex which is involved in the degradation of the mRNA. The complex consists of the endoribonuclease RNase E, the exoribonuclease polynucleotide phosphate - dependent phosphorylase ( PNPase ) and the DEAD -box RNA helicase B ( RHLB ). The composition of the Degradosom varies depending on the organism. In eukaryotes and archaea related protein complexes are known which are called exosome and are composed of up to ten proteins.
