Dehme is a district of the town of Bad Oeynhausen in the Minden - Luebbecke in East Westphalia.

Located just south of the Wiehengebirge and west of the Weser. In the east Dehme borders the neighborhoods Costedt ( separated by the Weser) and Barkhausen the city Porta Westfalica, on the north by the districts of Häverstädt and Dützen the city of Minden, on the west by the district Eidinghausen and on the south by the district Rehme.

History

For the first time Dehme is mentioned in 1088 in a charter of Bishop Benno II of Osnabrück. At the municipal reform, which took effect on 1 January 1973, the then independent municipality Dehme was incorporated with a total area of ​​6.53 km ² and 2481 inhabitants to Bad Oeynhausen. Attractions

  • Dehmer hill above Dehme on the southern slope of the Wiehengebirge. It is one in the pre-Roman Iron Age ( 500 BC to AD birth ) built fortified settlement, which served as a refuge castle. Archaeological excavations took place in the years 1904 and 1986. Today, the fortress is a ground monument, of which only about 1 m high wall remnants are present.
