Deliriant

As Delirantia anticholinergic and hallucinogenic agents psychotropic substances are referred to which a state similar to cause delirium in intoxicating doses. This is done by blocking muscarinic acetylcholine receptors. Frequently used drugs are delirious eg in some solanaceous plants ( angel trumpets, belladonna, datura ) occurring scopolamine, the muscimol from Amanita muscaria, alcohol ( if consumed in large quantities ) and the synthetic DEM.

The noise caused by the consumption of Delirantia is characterized by mental dissociation and consequent amnesia and confusion, disorientation, agitation, and the eventual appearance of real, not recognized as such hallucinations. This can lead to phantom actions and resulting accidents.

Since alkaloids from Solanaceae are mostly highly toxic, herbal Delirantia can be easily overdosed and lead to life-threatening tachycardia, or hyperthermia.
