Demas

Demas is mentioned in the New Testament by the Apostle Paul as a worker ( Philemon 1:24). In the first imprisonment of Paul in Rome Demas was there, but he left the apostles later of " love of the world " (2 Timothy 4:10) and went to Thessalonica.

Christians see in Demas a parable that a follower of Christ can be obtained from the worldly temptations.

In the book " Pilgrimage to the blessed eternity " by John Bunyan Demas is described as an impostor, the pilgrim from the mountain beckons Lucre to him, and this forces them to work in the local silver mines.
