Den Atelier

The studio is a night club in Luxembourg City, which is known for its numerous rock concerts by international bands.

History

The idea for a nightclub emerged in the early 90s out of necessity: there was no place in Luxembourg for live performances by international bands and they occurred only rarely in Luxembourg. The founders acquired a former Renault Car Workshop in Hollerech district, which also gave its name to the club: the atelier ( workshop ).

The club opened on 23 October 1995. On November 1, 1995 Jimmy Somerville was the first live concert. Today the studio is one of the most important venues for rock concerts throughout the Greater Region.

Miscellaneous

The focus of the studio is the organization of rock, alternative and indie concerts. The small size of the concert hall (seats for only about 800 people), the concerts have a very special mood.

In addition, the workshop organized every year since 2006, the Rock-A- Field festival in Roeser in the south of Luxembourg until 2011, a one day festival with the previous maximum of 18,000 spectators. In 2012, the festival held over two days. The headliners in 2006 were placebo, 2007 The Killers and Queens of the Stone Age, UNKLE 2008, 2009 Kings of Leon, The Prodigy in 2010 and 2011 Arcade Fire.
